(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Indiana University will not request a second hearing with the NCAA committee on infractions concerning an allegation that the school failed to monitor the men’s basketball program.
IU has until September 17th to submit a written response to the allegation, but University Spokesman Larry McIntyre says that has not happened yet.
The NCAA leveled the new charge in late June after Indiana officials and former basketball coach Kelvin Sampson attended a June 14th hearing before the infractions committee in Seattle. The original hearing was to investigate charges of major violations against the program for making impermissible phone calls to recruits and lying to NCAA investigators.
