(CLEVELAND, OH) - Colts President Bill Polian says quarterback Peyton Manning is on schedule to return from knee surgery.
Polian addressed the health of Manning and the team's other injured players before last night's Hall of Fame game. Manning has begun rehabilitating his left knee after having an infected bursa sac surgically removed on July 14th.
The team expects Manning and four other players currently on the physically unable to perform list - defensive end Dwight Freeney, safety Bob Sanders, guard Ryan Lilja and rookie tight end Tom Santi - to return to practice on August 15th.
Polian also says that rookie linebacker Phillip Wheeler and second-year cornerback Michael Coe will undergo knee surgery.
