(INDIANAPOLIS) - Ball State wide receiver Dante Love is unlikely to play football again after suffering a serious neck injury Saturday.
A statement from Ball State said Love's playing career is expected to be over, but that after rehab he is expected to be able to live a normal and healthy life.
Love, a senior wide receiver, was injured in a hit on his helmet against Indiana University. Love was diagnosed with a cervical spine fracture and spinal cord injury and underwent a five-hour surgery on Sunday to stabilize the injury.
According to Cardinals Head Coach Brady Hoke, Love has full motion in all four limbs.
