(INDIANAPOLIS) - Ball State officials say that wide receiver Dante Love is able to move his arms and legs after a five-hour surgery to stabilize a spinal fracture.
Love, who was hurt in the second quarter of Saturday's game at IU, suffered a cervical spine fracture and spinal cord injury. The senior was motionless and complained of numbness and tingling after taking a hit to the helmet.
Play was stopped for about 15 minutes before love was carted off the field and taken to a Bloomington Hospital. Love was quickly taken to Indianapolis' Methodist Hospital and underwent the five-hour procedure early Sunday.
Love entered the weekend as the nation's leader in receiving yards per game.
