(MINNEAPOLIS, MN) - It wasn’t pretty, but the Indianapolis Colts will take it. Adam Vinatieri’s field goal with three seconds remaining gave the Colts an 18-15 win over the Minnesota Vikings at the Metrodome.
Ryan Longwell hit five field goals to give the Vikings a 15-0 lead late in the third quarter before the Colts made their comeback.
A 75-yard play involving a completion from Peyton Manning to Anthony Gonzalez, who lateraled to Reggie Wayne, set up the Colts first touchdown.
The Colts tied it when Manning hit Wayne on a 32-yard TD pass and Dominic Rhodes ran up the middle for the two-point conversion.
With the win, the Colts even their record at 1-and-1 while Minnesota falls to 0-and-2.
The horseshoes suffered some more injuries during Sunday's come-from-behind win at Minnesota. Left tackle Tony Ugoh was sidelined by a groin injury and Pro Bowl safety Bob Sanders left with an ankle injury.
The Colts opened the game shorthanded with stars Jeff Saturday and Dallas Clark in street clothes. Saturday, the three-time Pro Bowl center, has been out since the preseason with a torn knee ligament. Clark, who injured his knee last week against the Bears, worked out before the game before being placed on yesterday's inactive list.
The Colts host Jacksonville this Sunday. Tune in for all the action starting at 3pm on Lawrence County's home for Indianapolis Colts football, 1340 AM WBIW.
