(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts worked out briefly this afternoon as they get ready for Sunday’s regular season opener with the Chicago Bears at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Colts will have tomorrow off before installing the gameplan for the Bears on Wednesday.
Much of the focus this week will be on quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Jim Sorgi. Manning missed all of the preseason following knee surgery in mid-July. Sorgi missed the final two preseason games with a knee problem of his own.
Barring any moves this week, Manning and Sorgi are the only quarterbacks on the roster after the Colts waived Quinn Gray and Jared Lorenzen on Saturday.
Colts share Lucas Oil Stadium
The Colts aren't the only NFL team preparing for a regular season-opener this week in Indianapolis. The New Orleans Saints are in Indy and will get ready for their opener with Tampa Bay on Sunday by working out this week at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Saints headed north as the Gulf Coast is evacuated in the wake of Hurricane Gustav. The Saints anticipate returning to New Orleans on Friday and are scheduled to face the Buccaneers at the Louisiana Superdome on Sunday.
