(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts will waive starting defensive tackle Ed Johnson this morning following his arrest on marijuana possession charges.
The second-year player from Penn State was stopped for speeding on Interstate 465 in Hamilton County Wednesday morning.
Team President Bill Polian announced Wednesday afternoon that Johnson would miss Sunday's game with the Vikings. The Colts issued a statement from Polian on Wednesday night saying that Johnson would be waived today.
Polian says Johnson's previous history played a role in the team's decision. Johnson was disciplined three times during his career at Penn State and at one point was expelled from the university for violating the school's policy on sexual misconduct.
