(INDIANAPOLIS IN) - The Indiana Fever open the WNBA playoffs Friday night when they host the Detroit Shock in game one of their best-of-three eastern conference semifinal series.
The Fever finished the regular season at 17-and-17, the franchise's worst record since 2004. The Shock are the number-one seed in the east at 22-and-12 and have won all three of their games with Indiana this season.
The Fever have been knocked out of the playoffs by the Shock each of the last two seasons. Detroit swept Indiana in the first round in 2006 before needing three games to eliminate the Fever in last year's eastern conference finals.
