(MEMPHIS, TN) - The Indiana Pacers play their first road game of the preseason tonight when they face the Grizzlies in Memphis.
The Pacers evened their exhibition record at 1-and-1 with a 102-95 win over the Chicago Bulls Friday night in Fort Wayne.
It is doubtful that veteran swingman Eddie Jones will make his Indiana debut tonight. The Pacers acquired Jones Friday from the Dallas Mavericks for Shawne Williams. Jones has been battling a hamstring injury. He was not at the Sunday's practice at Conseco Fieldhouse and is not expected to meet the team in Memphis today.
Dallas will pick up a large majority of Jones' $1.1-million-dollar salary, meaning Indiana would not lose much should they decide to cut the 14-year veteran. Team President Larry Bird says he is interested in keeping Jones on the roster.
The Pacers did get some good news as Mike Dunleavy participated in his first practice of the preseason yesterday. Dunleavy has been out with tendonitis in his right knee. He is not expected to play tonight.
Indiana is also expected to be without Marquis Daniels, Troy Murphy and Travis Diener.
