(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) Purdue Coach Joe Tiller says Curtis Painter is his starting quarterback for Saturday’s game at number-eleven Ohio State, but did not rule out putting backup Joey Elliott into the game.
Elliott relieved Painter in the fourth quarter of the Boilermakers' 20-to-6 loss to Penn State last Saturday.
Quarterback is not the only position seeing a little added competition this week. Carson Wiggs is competing with starting placekicker Chris Summers. Summers has missed five of his last seven field goal attempts, including two against Penn State.
