(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington has been selected to host a national softball tournament in the year 2010.
The city's Parks and Recreation Department and Visitors' Bureau were successful in their bid to get the 19th Annual Amateur Softball Association's national tournament to come to the campus town.
The decision was made this week at the association's meeting in Oklahoma City, and Bloomington was also awarded the organization's Award of Excellence for last summer's girls' national championship.
