(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis will host the NCAA men’s Final Four in 2015.
The tournament is scheduled for April 4-6 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
NCAA Commissioner Mike Slive says Indy's local organizing committee made an aggressive bid presentation.
He says his commission looked at several criteria including the "walkability" of a city.
Slive says the selection process was radically different this year because the NCAA has assumed most of the cost, so local organizing committees no longer make financial bids for the event.
Indianapolis has hosted the men's event four times since 1991 and is slated to host it next in 2010.
Just last week, the NCAA announced that the city will also be the site for the women's Final Four in 2016.
