(INDIANAPOLIS) - The implosion of the RCA Dome, former home of the Indianapolis Colts, is less than five weeks away.
Since the roof was deflated on September 24, crews have been working to get everything out of the building.
Now, the remainder of the conventional demolition is continuing, getting ready for the implosion which is scheduled for the morning of December 20. Most of the implosion- drilled holes in the columns are done.
And on the exterior of the RCA Dome, they're making the final separation from the dome to the Indiana Convention Center.
Tom Scheele, project executive for construction manager Shiel, Sexton, Powers, cautions that the implosion is not as big a deal as some might think.
