(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Amare Stoudamire scored 49 points and grabbed eleven rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns past the Indiana Pacers 113-103 at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Stoudamire hit 17 of 21 shots from the field and all 15 of his free throw attempts, falling one point shy of his career high.
Phoenix scored the first two points of the game, but Indiana took command by scoring ten unanswered points en route to a 38-27 advantage at the end of the first period. The Suns cut into the lead in the second quarter as the Pacers led 66-59 at the half.
Phoenix took command in the third quarter, finishing the period with a 14-0 run to take the lead for good. Indiana scored just 37 points in the second half as the Suns clamped down defensively to pick up their third-straight win.
Danny Granger and TJ Ford led the pacers with 23 points with Marquis Daniels adding 19.
Indiana falls to 1-and-2 and travel to Cleveland to face Lebron James and the Cavaliers on Friday night.
