(INDIANAPOLIS) - It was the final item that was sure to draw a crowd and the expectation didn’t disappoint.
The RCA Dome locker used by quarterback Peyton Manning was the final item in an online auction of dome memorabilia. The auction closed at 1pm Monday afternoon.
Maingate, Incorporated facilitated the online auction and the sale of dome pieces for Colts fans. Maingate President David Moroknek says Peyton's locker was the highest-selling item with the bids reaching beyond 6,000 dollars.
The winning bidder and purchase price will only be revealed to the public if the bidder grants permission.
Moroknek says the lockers were the most popular auction items along with some unusual items like the bathroom urinals. The auction also had worldwide appeal with some items being shipped as far as Ireland and Australia.
Proceeds from the auction will be used for charitable giving by the Colts Foundation and the Indiana Sports Corporation.
