(SOUTH BEND, IN) - Despite a monster night from Luke Harangody, eighth-ranked Marquette extended its winning streak to ten games with a 71-64 win over number-22 Notre Dame at the Joyce Center.
Jarel McNeal led the Golden Eagles with a season-high 27 points with Wesley Matthews adding 16 points and Richmond native Dominic James finishing with 15 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
Harangody finished with 29 points and 17 rebounds, but Tory Jackson was the only other member of the Fighting Irish to reach double-digits with ten points.
Marquette remains perfect in the Big East with a 7-and-0 conference mark as they improve to 18-and-2 overall.
Notre Dame has suffered back-to-back losses at home after winning 45-straight in South Bend. The overall losing streak is at four as the Irish drop to 12-and-7 overall, 3-and-5 in the Big East. They are at third-ranked Pittsburgh on Saturday.
