(EVANSTON, IL) - The Purdue Boilermakers used a 20-to-7 run over the final 6:50 to edge the Northwestern Wildcats 63-61 in Evanston.
The 19th-ranked Boilermakers trailed throughout, erasing a 14-point deficit and finally taking their first lead on Keaton Grant's three-pointer with 1:12 left. Northwestern's Kevin coble tied the game at 61 with 47 seconds left before Jajuan Johnson hit a pair of free throws with 2.2 seconds remaining to give Purdue the win.
Robbie Hummel led Purdue with 15 points with Johnson finishing with 13.
Coble and Craig Moore tied for team-high honors with 16 points as the Wildcats lose their fourth in a row to fall to 8-and-6, 0-and-4 in Big Ten play.
The Boilers improve to 13-and-4, 2-and-2 in conference play. They host Iowa on Sunday.
