(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has unveiled the pace car for this year’s 93rd running of the Indy 500.
It's a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. IMS president Joie Chitwood says the Camaro first paced the Indy 500 in 1967.
2009 marks the fifth time the Camaro has been selected to pace the Indy 500.
Along with 1967, it was also chosen in 1969, 1982 and 1993.
It will be the 44th time a General Motors vehicle has paced "The greatest spectacle in racing", with 20 by Chevrolet.
The 2009 Indianapolis 500 pace car driver will be announced at a later date.
