(MINNEAPOLIS, MN) - Paul Carter scored 19 of his career-high 22 points in the second half to lead the Minnesota Golden Gophers to a 62-54 win over the Indiana Hoosiers.
Carter was the only Gopher to reach double figures in scoring as IU kept the game close until midway through the second half. The Hoosiers had a 34-33 lead when Minnesota took charge with a 17-2 run.
Verdell Jones led a balanced Indiana scoring attack with 18 points with Nick Williams adding 13 as the Hoosiers could not overcome a season-high-tying 26 turnovers.
Minnesota snapped a two-game skid to improve to 19-and-5, 7-and-5 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers drop to 6-and-17, 1-and-10 in league play.
