No Charges Filed Against Colts' Reid

Last updated on Tuesday, February 10, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman Darrell Reid will not face charges following his arrest early Sunday morning in the parking lot of a Northeast side Indianapolis nightclub.

The 26-year-old Reid was accused of disorderly conduct and trespassing when he refused to leave the nightclub's parking lot when ordered to do so by two Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers who were directing traffic out of the parking lot. He was released on his own recognizance Sunday night.

Mario Massillamany, a spokesman for the Marion County prosecutor's office, says misdemeanor disorderly conduct and trespassing charges are not merited because the incident occurred on public property. Reid's car had not fully left the public right-of-way, so a trespassing charge was not warranted and Massillamany says there was insufficient evidence to file a disorderly conduct charge.

Reid just completed his fourth season with the Colts after signing as a free agent out of the University of Minnesota in 2005. He has been a backup defensive tackle and a standout special teams performer during his time in Indianapolis.
