(KALAMAZOO, MI) - Shawntes Gary scored 27 points and David Kool added 22 to lead the Western Michigan Broncos to an 84-82 overtime victory over the Ball State Cardinals.
Ball State overcame a 14-point deficit at halftime and built a six-point lead in the final minute of regulation before Western Michigan forced the extra session with a 9-3 run.
Kool tied the game with a jumper with one second left in regulation and scored nine of the Broncos' 13 points in OT as Western Michigan ties the Cardinals for the MAC-West lead.
Both teams are 7-8 in conference play. Jarrod Jones led Ball State with 20 points with Brandon Lampley adding 19 as the cardinals have dropped seven-straight road games.
Ball State wraps up its regular season on Sunday when they host Eastern Michigan.
