(MIAMI, FL) - The tax evasion trial of two-time Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves entered its fifth week Monday with Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson testifying for the defense.
Johnson testified as a character witness for Michigan attorney Allan Miller, who is on trial along with Castroneves and Castroneves' sister, Kati.
Miller represents both Johnson and Castroneves.
Miller and the Castroneves siblings are accused of conspiring to help Helio Castroneves evade paying federal taxes on approximately $5.5 million between 1999 and 2004.
Prosecutors rested their case following four weeks of testimony last Friday.
