(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts reportedly have waived running back Clifton Dawson.
The Indianapolis Star reported Dawson's departure Monday afternoon on the newspaper's website. There has been no confirmation from the team.
Dawson appeared in two games last season before being placed on injured reserve with a head injury.
Dawson was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Harvard in 2007. He rushed 30 times for 64 yards and a touchdown as a rookie. He played on special teams in games against Green Bay and Tennessee in October. He was placed on IR on November 4th.
Dawson's release leaves the Colts with just four running backs on the roster - Joseph Addai, Mike Hart, Lance Ball and Chad Simpson.
Veteran Dominic Rhodes remains on the market as an unrestricted free agent after serving as Addai's backup last season.
