(LEEDS, AL) - Team Penske and Target Chip Ganassi Racing claimed the top four spots on the speed chart as the IndyCar Series concluded a two-day test at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama.
Will Power was quickest in the number-three Penske entry, lapping the 17-turn road course at a speed of 119.213 miles per hour. Ganassi's Dario Franchitti was second quick at 118.663 with Penske's Ryan Briscoe third quick and Ganassi's Scott Dixon fourth. Dixon was fastest on day one, but his speed on Sunday would not have cracked Monday's top ten.
Graham Rahal and Robert Doornbos of Newman-Haas-Lanigan Racing and Marco Andretti of Andretti Green Racing also turned in laps in excess of 118 miles an hour.
There was one incident during the day as Mario Moraes made contact with a tire barrier in his KV Racing Technology car shortly before the lunch break. Moraes missed most of the afternoon session, returning to the track with 20 minutes remaining in the test.
The test was the final open test before the April 5th IndyCar Series season-opener through the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida.
