(SACRAMENTO, CA) - Jarrett Jack scored 26 points and Troy Murphy added 23 points and ten rebounds as the Indiana Pacers opened their three-game western road trip with a 117-109 victory at Sacramento.
Travis Diener came off the bench to hit five three-pointers and finished with a season-high 18 points as Indiana won for just the second time in their last 14 road games.
Kevin Martin led the Kings with 21 points with Rashad McCants finishing with 20 as Sacramento falls to an NBA worst 13-and-49. The Pacers are 27-and-36 as they face the Trail Blazers tonight in Portland.
Tuesday's win combined with Milwaukee's loss to New Jersey draws the Pacers within two games of the Bucks for the eighth and final eastern conference playoff berth.
The Pacers could get a boost as soon as this evening as leading scorer Danny Granger is due back soon from his foot injury. Granger worked out some at the Pacers' Tuesday morning shoot around and did some shooting before last night's game, but is not expected to play tonight. He could make his return Saturday night in Los Angeles when Indiana winds up the road trip against the Clippers.
The Pacers have won five of seven games since Granger went down with a partially torn tendon in his right foot.
