(PORTLAND, OR) - The Purdue Boilermakers open NCAA Tournament play this afternoon as the fifth-seeded Boilers face number-twelve seed Northern Iowa in Portland.
Purdue struggled at the end of the regular season, dropping three of their final four games, but regained their form in the Big Ten Tournament and beat Ohio State for their first conference tournament championship.
The Panthers tied Creighton for the regular-season crown in the Missouri Valley Conference and dispatched Illinois State in the title game of the MVC Tournament to claim the school's fifth NCAA tournament berth.
