(UNDATED) - The Purdue women’s basketball team will try to match the men’s team and advance to the Sweet-16 of the NCAA tournament.
The sixth-seeded Boilermakers face number-three seed North Carolina this evening in a second-round game at Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Purdue advanced to round two with a 65-52 victory over eleventh-seeded Charlotte on Saturday afternoon. The Tar Heels advanced with a hard-fought 85-80 win over number-14 seed Central Florida.
North Carolina has won the previous three meetings with Purdue and four of five overall. The Boilers' only win over UNC came en route to Purdue's national championship in 1999.
