(ATLANTA, GA) - Adam Wainwright threw six strong innings and contributed to a big inning on offense by St. Louis as the Cardinals got past the Atlanta Braves 5-3.
Wainwright, Albert Pujols, Chris Duncan and Rick Ankiel hit RBI singles as the Redbirds scored four runs in the top of the fifth to take the lead for good.
Wainwright improved to 3-0, allowing two earned runs on seven hits.
Javier Vazquez took the loss for Atlanta, falling to 2-2.
