(MIAMI, FL) - Deliberations in the tax evasion trial of two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves and two co-defendants are set to resume today in Miami.
Castroneves, his sister Kati and Michigan attorney Alan Miller are accused of using a Panamanian shell corporation to divert around $5.5 million of Castroneves' earnings to avoid paying US taxes.
Closing arguments wrapped up on Friday with the jury deliberating for several hours before taking the weekend off. If convicted, all three could receive prison sentences in excess of six years.
