(LONG BEACH, CA) - Dario Franchitti was dominant in winning Sunday’s Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Franchitti led 51 of the 85 laps to pick up his first IndyCar Series win since the 2007 finale at Chicagoland.
Pole-winner Will Power was second, more than three seconds behind Franchitti with Tony Kanaan, Danica Patrick and Dan Wheldon rounding out the top five.
Helio Castroneves, who returned to action following his acquittal in a seven-week tax evasion trial, came in seventh place.
Franchitti takes over the points lead heading to this Sunday's race at Kansas Speedway.
