(MILWAUKEE, WI) - Edwin Encarnacion capped a six-run third inning for Cincinnati with a grand slam as the Reds held on to edge the Milwaukee Brewers 7-6.
Jay Bruce put the Reds on the board in the second with a game-tying solo home run, his first of the season. Milwaukee responded with four runs in the bottom of the second with Corey Hart hammering a three-run homer.
Following Cincinnati's big inning, JJ Hardy drew the Brewers to within a run with a solo shot in the fifth, but that would be it for the scoring as the Reds bullpen bent but did not break the rest of the way.
With the win, the Reds reach .500 at 3-3 while the Brewers drop to 2-5.
