(TALLADEGA, AL) - Brad Keselowski shoved Carl Edwards’ car out of the way and beat Dale Earnhardt Junior to the finish line to win Sunday’s Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at Talladega Superspeedway.
Edwards and Keselowski had teamed up to draft their way past Ryan Newman and Earnhardt on the final lap. Keselowski then went underneath Edwards, who tried to block Keselowski and wound up getting airborne and going into the catch fence.
For Keselowski, it is his first Sprint Cup win in his fifth start.
Earnhardt was second with Newman, Marcos Ambrose and Scott Speed rounding out the top five. Several cars were taken out of contention in a 14-car accident on just the sixth lap of the race.
Two of those were the Hendrick Motorsports Cars of Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin.
