(CLEVELAND, OH) - Boston reliever Javier Lopez could not handle a toss from first baseman Kevin Youkilis, allowing the winning run to score as the Cleveland Indians defeated the Red Sox 9-8.
Ben Francisco hit a three-run home run and Mark DeRosa added a solo shot as the Indians ended Boston's eleven-game winning streak. DeRosa led off the bottom of the ninth with a bloop single off Lopez and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Francisco.
After Lopez got Grady Sizemore to strike out, Asdrubal Cabrera hit a ground ball to Youkilis.
Lopez dropped the flip from Youkilis, allowing DeRosa to score the game-winner from second base.
