(CLEVELAND, OH) - Rookie Jonathan van Every hit his first major league home run with two out in the top of the tenth inning to give the Boston Red Sox a 6-5 win over the Cleveland Indians.
Earlier, van Every had singled home a run in Boston's three-run eighth with Jacoby Ellsbury capping the frame with a game-tying RBI single off Indians reliever Jensen Lewis.
Lewis was still in the game in the tenth and surrendered van Every's game-winner.
Kelly Shoppach hit a two-run home run and Mark DeRosa added a solo shot in a losing effort for Cleveland.
