(INDIANAPOLIS) - Veteran IndyCar Series driver Scott Sharp has a ride for next month’s Indianapolis 500.
Sharp will team with 2005 Indy 500 champion Dan Wheldon with Panther Racing and will drive car number 16.
Sharp was the Indy Racing League's co-champion in its inaugural season in 1996. He won the pole at Indianapolis in 2001, but crashed in turn one during the first lap of that race.
Sharp holds the IndyCar Series record for career starts with 146.
