(DETROIT, MI) - Armando Galarraga and three relievers combined on a four-hit shutout as the Detroit Tigers blanked the Chicago White Sox 9-0.
Galarraga pitched six and-a-third innings, allowing all four Chicago hits to improve to 2-0. Placido Polanco hit a two-run double and drove in three runs with Miguel Cabrera hitting a solo homer, his fourth of the season, and driving in two.
Jose Contreras allowed five runs over five and-a-third innings to fall to 0-2 as the White Sox' three-game winning streak was snapped.
