(CHICAGO, IL) - The Chicago White Sox and the Seattle Mariners split a doubleheader Tuesday at US Cellular Field.
The Sox won the opener 2-1 behind Bartolo Colon. Colon allowed a run on four hits over seven innings to improve to 2-1.
Paul Konerko provided the offense with a two-run double in the fourth. In the nightcap, Felix Hernandez shut down Chicago as the Mariners won 9-1. Hernandez allowed four hits and struck-out nine in eight shutout innings of work.
Yuniesky Betancourt hit a three-run homer and drove in five for Seattle.
