(BALTIMORE, MD) - Josh Fields and Jim Thome hit home runs and John Danks threw seven strong innings to lead the Chicago White Sox past the Baltimore Orioles 8-2.
Danks allowed a run on four hits over seven innings to improve to 2-0.
Thome gave Chicago a 4-0 lead in the third when he slammed a pitch off Baltimore starter Jeremy Guthrie over the left-centerfield wall. Fields added a two-run shot in the seventh and finished with three runs batted in while Chris Getz drove in a pair of runs.
Luke Scott hit a solo shot off Danks in the fifth.
Guthrie took the loss to fall to 2-1.
