(PHOENIX, AZ) - Carlos Zambrano threw seven strong innings and fell a triple short of hitting for the cycle as the Chicago Cubs blew-out the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-3.
Zambrano allowed three runs on eight hits while going 3-for-4 at the plate with a single, double, solo home run, two runs batted in and three runs scored.
Alfonso Soriano put the Cubs up for good with a three-run homer off Arizona starter Yusmeiro Petit in the third with Mike Fontenot adding a two-run shot off Petit in the fourth as Chicago raced out to a 7-0 lead.
