(ST. LOUIS) - Mike Jacobs’ RBI single in the seventh was the difference as the Kansas City Royals snapped a four-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
Brain Bannister allowed two runs over six innings and drove in a run at the plate to pick up the win for KC, improving to 4-1 on the season.
The Cardinals scored both of their runs in the sixth on RBI singles from Yadier Molina and starting pitcher Joel Pineiro.
Pineiro gave up three runs on eight hits over seven innings to fall to 5-4.
