(ST. LOUIS) - The Milwaukee Brewers extended their winning streak to six games with an 8-4 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Brewers erupted for four runs in the top of the third, three of those coming on Mat Gamel's first career home run.
Braden Looper allowed one earned run over six-plus innings of work to improve to 4-and-2.
All four St. Louis runs came in the bottom of the seventh with Colby Rasmus and Skip Schumaker hitting two-run homers in the inning.
With the win, the Brewers complete a sweep of the three-game series and take a two-game lead over Chicago and a three-game lead over the Redbirds in the National League central.
