(DETROIT, MI) - Justin Verlander and three relievers combined on a three-hitter as the Detroit Tigers beat the Cleveland Indians 3-1.
Verlander allowed a run on two hits over seven innings, striking out eleven to even his record at 2-2.
Brandon Inge gave Detroit the early lead in the second with a solo homer, his eighth of the season, off Cleveland starter Cliff Lee.
Asdrubal Cabrera tied the game with an RBI single in the third before the Tigers took the lead on Curtis Granderson's RBI double in the seventh.
Granderson would come around to score an insurance run on Magglio Ordonez' RBI single as Lee falls to 1-4 on the season.
