(CHICAGO, IL) - Ryan Theriot homered and Ryan Dempster threw seven strong innings in the Chicago Cubs’ 4-2 win over the San Francisco Giants.
Geovany Soto gave Chicago a 1-0 lead in the first when he drew a bases-loaded walk from Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez.
Theriot slammed a two-run homer off Sanchez in the second and Reed Johnson drove home the final Cubs run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
Dempster improves to 2-1 after allowing two runs on five hits, walking two and striking out seven. San Francisco scored both of its runs in the sixth on an RBI single from Pablo Sandoval and an RBI fielder's choice off the bat of Bengie Molina.
The Cubs extend their winning streak to four games.
