(CLEVELAND, OH) - The Cleveland Indians used the long ball and another strong outing from Carl Pavano to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-1.
All of the runs in this game came via the home run. Mark DeRosa hit a two-run homer with Ryan Garko, Asdrubal Cabrera and Kelly Shoppach adding solo shots for Cleveland.
Tampa Bay's lone run came on a solo blast from Carlos Pena.
Pena's shot would be the only run Pavano would yield in seven innings of work as he gave up just four hits to improve to 5-4.
Matt Garza took the loss for the Rays to drop to 4-3.
