(INDIANAPOLIS) - Shelby Ford and Jeff Salazar drove in runs in the bottom of the seventh as the Indianapolis Indians edged the Rochester Red Wings 2-1 in the finale of their four-game series at Victory Field.
Ford broke up a scoreless pitchers' duel when he reached Rochester starter Jason Jones for an RBI single in the seventh.
Following a pitching change, the Red Wings were unable to turn a double play on Salazar's comeback to the mound with Chris Barnwell scoring Indianapolis' second run.
Matt Macri spoiled the shutout, hitting an RBI single in the top of the ninth. Jeremy Powell threw six shutout innings for the Tribe but did not get a decision as the Indians earned a split of the series.
They host Scranton / Wilkes-Barre tonight.
