(MIAMI, FL) Edinson Volquez and Nick Masset combined on a three-hit shutout as the Cincinnati Reds blanked the Florida Marlins 7-0.
Joey Votto gave the Reds the lead with an RBI single in the first.
Brandon Phillips took over from there, driving home Votto with a single in the third, hitting a two-run single in the fifth and capping the night with a three-run homer in the seventh.
Phillips finished 3-for-5 with six runs batted in.
Volquez allowed three hits over eight innings, walking four while striking out seven to improve to 4-and-2.
It was the second-straight strong outing for Volquez, who combined with Arthur Rhodes to one-hit Houston last Wednesday.
