(CONCORD, NC) - David Reutimann picked up his first NASCAR Sprint Cup win, taking Monday’s rain-shortened Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
Reutimann opted to stay out during a late caution period and was in the lead when the race was red-flagged for the third time due to rain on lap 227.
After a delay of one hour and 35 minutes, NASCAR called the race, giving Reutimann the win.
Pole winner Ryan Newman was second and Robbie Gordon was third after staying out during the yellow caused by rain on lap 221.
Carl Edwards and Brian Vickers rounded out the top five.
The win was also the first for Michael Waltrip Racing.
