(INDIANAPOLIS) - Rahal Letterman Racing announced Wednesday that veteran Oriol Servia will drive its number-17 car this weekend in an attempt to make the field for the Indianapolis 500.
Servia was a rookie last year, finishing eleventh for KV Racing in the 2008 Indy 500.
Rahal Letterman won the race in 2004 with Buddy Rice behind the wheel and fielded Indy rookies of the year in Danica Patrick in 2005 and Ryan Hunter-Reay last year.
RLR has not competed in an IndyCar series race this season due to lack of sponsorship.
The team is owned by 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner Bobby Rahal and talk show host David Letterman.
