(FRANKLIN) - Avon High School has the lead after the first round of the IHSAA Boys Golf State Finals at the legends of Indiana course in Franklin.
The Orioles finished with a first-round score of 293, three strokes ahead of Evansville North. Southeastern is third at 299 while defending state champion Indianapolis Cathedral is tied for sixth at 306.
Avon sophomore Patrick Rodgers is the individual leader after carding a three-under-par 69 on Tuesday.
Tyler Merkel of Evansville Central, David Mills of Evansville North and Taylor Noel of Boone Grove are tied for second after firing one-under-par 71s.
The tournament is scheduled to wrap up today.
