(TORONTO, ON) - Marco Scutaro hit a two-run home run with Scott Rolen and Rod Barajas adding solo shots in the Toronto Blue Jays’ 7-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Brian Tallet, who was forced to start on short rest for Toronto due to injuries on the pitching staff, struck out a season-high seven, allowing three hits over six shutout innings to improve to 5 and 4.
Jay Bruce hit a two-run double for Cincinnati as the Reds lost their third straight to fall below .500 for the first time since the first week of the season.
Micah Owings took the loss for Cincinnati, falling to 4 and 8.
